Jones, Eric Gavin
Eric Gavin Jones, 40, of Farmington, N.H., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 30, 2013, in Farmington. A memorial service and the scattering of Eric's ashes was held Sept. 10 at Rye Beach State Park in Rye, N.H., and officiated by Craig Evans. A luncheon and celebration of Eric's life followed in Exeter, N.H.
Survivors include his parents, Terry and Jean Jones of Brookfield, N.H.; brother, Scott and wife Sara Jones of Exeter, N.H.; nieces, Morgan and Lauren, and nephews, Ethan and Dylan Jones of Exeter, N.H.; and grandfather, Robert Hinz of Marysville, Wash.
Eric was born in Fort Riley, Kan., on May 2, 1973, and resided in Farmington, N.H. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated in 1991 from Jefferson High School, where he was a varsity letterman in football and track. Eric attended Cornell College, the University of Iowa and University of Oklahoma.
Eric fought a long hard 13-year battle with leukemia. He was employed by PC Connections before becoming too ill to work.
Eric was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all.
