Howard DeCamp, 80, U.S. Army Veteran, Korean War, died October 12, 2013, in Glen Ellyn, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Jannes (nee Fuelling); three children; and six grandchildren.
Born and raised in Mount Vernon, he was a graduate of Cornell College and Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill. A longtime educator in Glen Ellyn, Mr. DeCamp was the recipient of three National Science Foundation grants, taught middle school science and prior to retirement in 1990, served as
an elementary school
principal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred (nee Spencer) and Earl DeCamp; and his brother, Robert.
Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, in Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
