Clovis is a positive role model for Republicans

The Republican Party of Iowa has undergone a tumultuous few years since the 2012 caucuses. Press reports have focused on the internal strife generated from leadership loyal to certain past candidates.
In an effort to avoid that apparent conflict-of-interest, many in leadership and many aspiring to leadership have pledged neutrality in contested Republican primary contests.
At the 1st District Convention in Cedar Rapids in April, I did not place my name into nomination to our State Central Committee (Republican Party of Iowa's board of directors) to avoid an apparent conflict-of-interest. I have decided to openly endorse conservative professor Sam Clovis (Air Force Colonel, retired) for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate.
Clovis has run a positive campaign focused on the issues and, in my opinion, has won every debate. It was a privilege to hear him on Memorial Day as the guest speaker for the Cedar Rapids' metro area's Memorial Day Observance. His positive message, focused on constitutionally grounded citizenship, is just what our party and country needs.
I have posted some of the recent debates on a Facebook page without comment; go to 'Iowa Senate Debates.”
