Charles was born July 20, 1960, in Pasadena, Calif., and moved to Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Washington High School in 1978 and was a talented and gifted athlete playing baseball and football and
also playing American Legion baseball. He then played at Kirkwood Community College and Muscatine Community College on a baseball scholarship and finished school at University of Iowa.
Charles had a zest for life with an infectious spirit. He was the life of the party and could bring a smile and laughter to anyone he came in contact with. He was very witty with an abundance of charisma. Charles made friends easily and no one was a stranger to him. He had a huge heart and his generosity was one of a kind. He would never say a bad word about anyone. Charles was a born "salesperson" and spent most of his career selling cars and managing a used car
department where his outgoing personality shined. As of late, he was the account executive for a marketing firm in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his children at Meier Children Donation Fund, US Bank, 5321 Council St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
