McKibbin, Sharon K.
Sharon K. McKibbin, 68, of 1050 Center St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The Rev. Harlan Gillespie and Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate.
Survivors include her husband, Jim McKibbin; and a son, Jason J. McKibbin, of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon was born Nov. 6, 1941, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Herb and Maytha Lowman Hibbs. She married Jim McKibbin on Dec. 28, 1973, in Cedar Rapids. Sharon was a teacher for Emmerson and Longfellow Schools, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was very active in the church. She was an excellent baker, great organizer of events and enjoyed walking. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
