Forever in Our Hearts

"Papa Mark" Humphrey, 63, of Volga

(formerly of Cedar Rapids), left this world Friday, February 27, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mark was survived and will be missed greatly by his partner of 23 years,

Marilyn Blackford, as well as his

daughter, Erika Smith of Osceola, and his son, Alex Humphrey of Arlington. Mark also played an important role in the lives of his stepchildren, Melinda Felske and Michelle Maurer, both of Cedar Rapids, and Carrie Blackford of Arlington.

Papa Mark was a man that loved the

outdoors, and he will be remembered with great fondness by his many

grandchildren. Our family is planning a celebration of life to take place at a

later date at Yellow River, one of

Papa's favorite places.

Mark was a social person and loved to have a conversation with anyone he met. His vast knowledge in many areas was due to his love of reading; he was always on a mission to know more. He made an impact in the lives of those he met, and he will be missed deeply.
