Accomplishments are almost always met with at least one obstacle, if you are lucky. Those who have needed to climb mountains are the truly strong. I have always been one of the extremely lucky.

I mentioned in last week's post that I have been dealing with some foot issues. What seemed to be a diminishing injury blew up on Tuesday of this past week – same issue but within my left foot.
My workout on Iowa's indoor track went well that night but the next day was difficult. So much so, that I made the decision to cancel my race at Iowa State, on Saturday. The first obstacle of this year but nothing that is too big to overcome.
I will admit that negative thoughts did rear their ugly head on Wednesday, as frustration started to grow. I couldn't help but bring back some old memories of my last two track seasons, which were filled with injury. The constant limping day after day really sucked.
So, for the past four days I have hit the bike, pool, ice baths, and have been healing. Hopefully, I can put the problem in the past and carry on.
Often times with me, obstacles are created by myself. It seems that I like to bite off more than I can chew, or push myself a little too far and too fast. That is because I am (at times) an idiot…
Running starts back up for me this Tuesday and am looking forward to it…and am taking it all with caution. The daily ice baths are back in my life! Sweet…
I did not have an indoor track race scheduled for this weekend, which is a good thing. But I will be traveling to Kansas City and running a 10k with a friend – an all-underground 10k. Good thing because the temp on Sunday is supposed to be WELL below freezing.
Until Monday and my next entry…think positive, be safe, stay warm, and live well
