Team USA moves to semis at World Jr. 'A' Challenge

Eric Mihalik of the Des Moines Buccaneers made all 18 saves as the United States blanked Sweden, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the World Junior 'A' Challenge hockey tournament Thursday at Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
The Americans, coached by Mark Carlson of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, play Russia in a tourney semifinal Friday. Also on the team are RoughRiders' Jeff Costello, Mac Bennett, Derek DeBlois and Mike Parks.
Bennett had an assist on USA's first goal Thursday from
Nick Jensen of the
Green Bay Gamblers. Also scoring in a three-goal second period were
David Gerths of the
Lincoln Stars and
Shane Berschbach of the
