Malfunctioning outdoor warning siren goes off in Cedar Rapids
Officials in Linn County say the outdoor warning sirens malfunctioned and activated in parts of Cedar Rapids early Thursday afternoon.
Officials say there is no emergency in Linn County.
Rene Nelson, communications director at the Duane Arnold Energy Center, said a malfunctioning outdoor warning siren went off this afternoon along Edgewood Road. A technician is on the way to repair the malfunction.
Nelson said it would be sometime before a cause is known.
