Law students at the University of Iowa can take a course this fall looking at the recently passed health care legislation.
The school's Innovation, Business and Law Center is offering the class. It will meet weekly through the fall semester. Law professor Herbert Hovenkamp will be a guest lecturer. He says the legislation is a "very timely, very hot topic" that will continue through the November elections.
Hovenkamp says the course will focus on legal issues that the new law presents from a variety of perspectives.
Public health law specialist and professor David Ortenlicher of the Indiana University law school in Indianapolis will be a visiting professor at the University of Iowa next school year. He will be the course's primary instructor.
