Letter: Support during flood was remarkable

The response from the City of Cedar Rapids during the 2016 flood event was truly remarkable. Everyone from City Manager Jeff Pomeranz, directors Jen Winter and Steve Hershner all the way down to the staff on the street did a fantastic job.
Mayor Ron Corbett and the city council were all hands on. I especially want to thank Ann Poe and Susie Weinacht for their attention to the northwest side. The volunteers were everywhere. In my neighborhood, we had union members, high school students and administrators, friends, family and total strangers all pitching in.
As president of the Northwest Neighbors Neighborhood Association I want thank everyone for their help. It was so gratifying to see the outpouring of support. The northwest side thanks everyone in the city for their help.
