Angell, Gene Duane
Gene Duane Angell, 60, of Gilbert, Ariz., died unexpectedly July 14, 2012. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Monday, July 23, at New Disciples of Cedar Rapids, 2000 Wiley Blvd. SW.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Angell; sons, Jason (Anne) Angell and Brian Angell; sister, Cindy Janda; and mother, Norma Angell.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Angell; and both sets of grandparents.
Gene was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of William and Norma Angell. He attended Jefferson High School, where he met his wife, Jean Osborne. After graduating, he joined the Navy and was active for 10 years. He then returned to Iowa to raise his sons. Gene worked for Procter & Gamble in Iowa City for 28 years. In 2007, he and his wife moved to Arizona.
He was a loving and caring father and will be forever remembered as a man who enjoyed life and cared for his friends. He will be greatly missed.
