Our souls belong to God

Yet another recent letter scolding those with other views about abortion prompts me to answer for many. First, those who might have different views are also Christian or have other religious views.
You who write the bitter thoughts, I realize, have been carefully taught. Following the debates through the years, I have a different view.
There is, of course, the potential for life at conception as there is for other life in nature. Looking from a religious point of view brings me to this belief: When we are formed perfectly or imperfectly and ready for birth whether early or in our time, we are given a soul and become children of God. This is a mystery and a miracle.
When our life ends, if the length is minutes or years, our soul goes back to God. This also is
a mystery and a miracle. There are, no doubt, other details, but I don't have inside information. I am 75 years old. Don't attempt to “enlighten” me.
