Ruth Marie Baars Clinton Harris Moellers, 95, of Elkader, died peacefully Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Elkader Care Center.

She was born May 15, 1918, on the Baars family farm near Volga, to Henry and Katherine (Kuehl) Baars. Ruth married Vernon Clinton and made her home in Littleport as a homemaker to her husband and six children. After Vernon's death, she later married Hermie Harris. Ruth lived in Communia, where she ran the Communia Country Store for the next 25 years before retiring.

She enjoyed being around family and friends, doing word search, embroidery, cooking, baking, gardening and especially

dancing.

Survivors include her six children, Sheldon (Barbara) Clinton of Elkader, Roland (Marguerite) Clinton of McGregor, Shirley (Harlan) Meyer of Guttenberg, Nyal Clinton of Strawberry Point, Dennis (Rhonda) Clinton of Spokane, Wash., and DeVere (Ellen) Clinton of Elkader; one brother, Delbert (Elaine) Baars of El Mirage, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, infant children and grandparents.

Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, with Pastor Andrea Mericle officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and one hour before the service Friday at the church. Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga.
