Red-light cameras needed in Iowa City

On Jan. 28 at the corner of First Avenue and Muscatine Road in Iowa City, I could tell I still had a green light and could cross the street. I am legally blind and use a white cane. But, I had just started to cross the intersection when I was hit and flipped onto the car's hood.
I believe the young woman driving was attempting to make a right turn on a red light, but she never stopped. I was able to get up on my own and could tell I had no broken bones.
Many drivers in this area just don't seem to get it. I am also frightened in that no one stopped to see if I needed help. I have to do this walk every few days and it terrifies me.
We need red-light cameras in Iowa City, including this corner. There are too many drivers in a hurry who don't get it until they have hit someone. Even if I was not blind, I think I would be afraid to cross the street.
