Janet M. Hoover, 69, of Willow Gardens Care Center, went home to be with our Savior on Sunday, May 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include her
devoted husband of 38 years, George Hoover; children, Jonathan Hoover and Rosalee (Jason) Nutt; and many "adopted" children, especially Jill Perry; siblings, Pat Truesdell,
Nathan Hammond and D.K. Hoover; grandchildren, Alex Mullane, Rebekah Hultman and Camron Nutt; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Rose Spencer; brothers, Billie Hoover and Glen Truesdell; great-nephew Christopher Thompson; and niece, Dixie Truesdell.
Jan was born Dec. 24, 1944, in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. At age 9, she was diagnosed with polio. She met her husband in 1973. They married Oct. 18, 1975. For nine years, she worked as a secretary at Grant Wood, then became a full-time homemaker. Jan was the most beautiful, courageous, funny, phenomenal lady who was always
happy. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a
memorial fund has been
established.
