Pray for the nation of Israel
The Gazette Opinion Staff
May. 22, 2011 12:33 am
As recent events unfold in Israel and President Barack Obama's speech on Thursday urging Israel to pull back to 1967 borders for the making of a “Palestinian state,” I am reminded of verses in the Bible.
Psalm 122:6 - “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.”
Genesis 12:2-3 - “I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
Galatians 3:29 - “And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
As a Christian and believer in the Messiah of Israel, I am urging pastors of churches to take a Sunday and pray for the nation of Israel, pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
It is not just a political issue but a spiritual one as well.
