V.R. "PINKY" WAHE

V.R. "Pinky" Wahe, 75, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, died Sat-urday, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her sons, Charles (Cindy) Wahe of Marion and Steven (Susan) Wahe of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ernest (Florence) Denbow of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Berta, Elma, Jean and Donna; and one brother, Clifford.
V.R. "Pinky" was born Aug. 23, 1939, in Marshalltown, the daughter of Paul and Fern (Payne) Denbow. She worked for Rockwell Collins for 35 years and was a member of IBEW 1362.
Pinky loved to play golf and go bowling. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Pinky enjoyed square dancing, ceramics, photography and reading.
She was a great mom, grandmother and perfect mother-in-law and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in Pinky's memory.
