A Visit Brings Smiles

The Kernels may be winners on the diamond, but they are also winners in the community. In addition to visiting area schools to encourage children to read, they also visit children and teens in area hospitals. During a recent trip to the UIHC on June 11, Tyler Skaggs and Mike Trout dropped in on a patient currently battling cancer. As a patient too often visited by health care professionals, she was delighted to receive a visit from a different kind of professional; Kernels baseball players! All smiles, it hard to tell who bennefitted more.
