The rain has stopped, but commuters found one Cedar Rapids intersection flooded Friday morning.
The water was about six inches deep and topped the curb at the corner of Ellis Boulevard and Penn Avenue NW, as storm drains backed up. At least three car drivers decided not to go through the high water.
It appeared the water had been higher, across the sidewalk on Penn Avenue, based on debris on the grass.
No streets were closed at 6:45 a.m., and most motorists were making it through the water just fine.
