PALO - Officials at Duane Arnold Energy Center said Wednesday they hadn't determined how a truck fire started the day before. One person was hurt Tuesday at the nuclear power plant near Palo when a hydrogen delivery truck caught fire.
Officials said the flames were safely away from any nuclear material and there was no serious threat to the public.
Still, investigators have launched an examination into how the fire started and how similar events can be prevented.
Renee Nelson, a spokeswoman for the company that operates the plant, declined to release details from the investigation so far.
'If there's an opportunity to improve on our strict procedures, we'll certainly do that,' she said.
