Longtime Lindale Mall Tenant Must Move

Cedar Rapids- A long time Lindale Mall tenant in Cedar Rapids will need a new home somewhere after the holiday season.

Holley's Shop for Men owners say the mall did not renew their current lease recently.  The store actually predates the enclosed mall and opened in what was then Lindale Plaza 47 years ago.  The original name of the store was Craemer's Mens Shop. 

Jim Holley, co-owner, said he and his brother are looking to find a new location somewhere in the northeast part of Cedar Rapids.

“There are spaces right now but we haven't found anything we think is what we want to have-or a space that wants to have us.  Our goal is to make it as easy for our customers as it is now,” Holley said.

Holley's owners plan to close for several days beginning Sunday to prepare for a sale.  They hope to make it a “relocation sale” with the idea of opening early next year in a new location.  Holley said his current lease at Lindale Mall expires January 31, 2012.

Lisa Rowe, marketing manager for Lindale Mall, said a leasing specialist for the mall believed as recently as last Monday there was a new lease deal for Holley's.
