Irma Katherine Langhoff was born Aug. 7, 1910, near Atkins, the daughter of George and Emma (Kunstorf) Happel. She attended Newhall School. She was united in marriage to Ralph F. Langhoff on Sept. 28, 1935, in Cedar Rapids. She was employed in food service at Marion rural schools. In 1960, she and Ralph started Langhoff Log & Lumber, where she worked for many years with her husband. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion, where she was involved in the Women's Society, the Kitchen Band, and the Helping Hands organization by volunteering time to giving clothing out to those in need. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and time spent with her family. She will forever be remembered for her love of her family, and the great legacy she has left.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Irma's close friends at Hill Top Manor for their kindness and prayers, and to Dr. Bell and the entire staff of St. Luke's Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Irma's honor.
