Huff, Vera J. (Bucy) Dlouhy
Vera J. (Bucy) Dlouhy Huff, 90, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Winslow House Care Center in Marion. A funeral service celebrating Vera's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Pastor Sheryll Untiedt officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Survivors include her sons, John (Cheryl) Dlouhy of Marion and Les (Hazel) Dlouhy of Cedar Rapids; and daughter-in-law, Judy Dlouhy of Palo.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Joseph Dlouhy and Robert Huff; and sons, Terry and Joe Dlouhy.
Vera J. Bucy was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Rock Creek, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Cora (Albertson) Bucy. She married Joseph Dlouhy on May 18, 1941, in Medford, Okla. After his passing in 1968, she then married Robert Huff in 1990 and he passed away in 1992. Vera was food service manager at the University of Iowa Memorial Union until she retired in 1985.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Camp Courageous.
