Melrose, Dennis G.
Dennis G. Melrose, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Denny was born Feb. 28, 1955, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He worked as a chef in Cedar Rapids for 35 years. He married Sharon Hamilton in 1995, and they had a son, Jason in 1997. Denny enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cardinals, Chiefs, Hawkeyes and professional wrestling.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; son, Jason; mom, Pat Melrose; and mother-in-law, Beverly Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; and father-in-law, Bill Hamilton.
Denny was a loving father, husband and friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services.
