Acting on a tip, police found an active methamphetamine lab in the attic of a Cedar Rapids house Monday evening.
Charles R. Williams, 38, of 1021 First Ave. SW, faces several drug charges following the discovery, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. Police said Williams had nine baggies of meth and 148 pseudoephedrine pills in the upper apartment.
Officers went to Williams' apartment shortly before 10 p.m. Monday to speak to him, and determined he was responsible for making the meth. Three drug pipes and 13 pills of the prescription drug Seroquel also were found. Williams did not have a prescription.
Williams, who has a lengthy criminal record, had previously spent time in prison for felony drug convictions.
Williams was transported to the Linn County Jail on Monday, where he remained Wednesday morning in lieu of $62,650 bond.
