Catholic Santorum is opposite of Kennedy

At 6 years old, I held my mother's hand when she voted for John Kennedy in 1960. We talked a lot about how important it is for women to vote as we walked to and from the public library in Sioux City. The issue of the day was whether Kennedy would take his orders from the pope, not the American people.
Now we have a Catholic man, Rick Santorum, running for president who has told the people he cares little about the separation of church and state; he wants to eliminate contraception and abortion, according to the teachings of his church.
Where have all the good Republicans gone? They would have seen this issue and others as private between a man, a woman and their doctor.
I could not support Santorum because of his duplicity about his wife's abortion. She had a pregnancy that went wrong (1996), the doctors induced labor, the baby was born live and lived for a few hours. How could a couple who had gone through this horrific life experience have no compassion or empathy for anyone else who might face similar circumstances? It is a conundrum to me. Send him home.
