Lam, Yong Foong
Yong Foong Lam, 48, died peacefully Friday, July 12, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A greeting time for family and friends will be Monday, July 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville. Yong's cremated remains will be scattered at a later date in Singapore.

Yong was born Feb. 19, 1965, in Singapore, where she married Beng Choon Ho in 1993. Yong and BC moved to Iowa City in 1993. Yong received both her bachelor's degree in 1996 and her master's degree in 1998 from the University of Iowa.
Most important to Yong was the love and care of her husband and children. She was proud to have recently received her United States citizenship. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and 617s.
Survivors include her loving husband, Beng Choon Ho; their three children, Louis, Eleanor and Vivien; and her mother, Lin Mok, and brothers, Kum Hon Lum, Peng Hon Lum and Choon Hon Lum, all of Singapore.
Yong was preceded in death by her father, Chang Lam.
