Iowa City High boys take over at No. 1 in Gazette area track Super 10
Cedar Rapids Prairie girls maintain a solid lead

May. 3, 2021 9:58 am, Updated: May. 3, 2021 10:40 am
There’s a new No. 1 in this week’s boys track and field Super 10.
Iowa City High edges Cedar Rapids Prairie by a 406-404 margin in this week’s Gazette-area rankings.
Prairie has strengthened its hold on the top of the girls’ list.
We started this in 2018. To refresh: It's a purely mathematical system, and here's how it works: Using Varsity Bound, we score the top 16 area competitors in each event, using the scoring that high school swimming invitationals score (20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for individual events, double for relays). A school can score two individuals in an event, and one relay. This rewards teams both for depth and for individual stars.
