The first Powerlift Hydraulic Doors are being built at Stuefen Manufacturing's new 10,000 square foot facility in the Tipton Industrial Park. The firm is a franchise of Rick's Welding, Inc. of Lake Benton, Minnesota.
Owners Mike and Julie Stuefen relocated to Tipton last spring citing the city's central location, business climate and quality of life. “Business is great,” said Mike Stuefen, “and the industrial park is a perfect location for us. It's right in town but there's plenty of room if we need to expand and we have easy access to I-80.”
The Tipton Economic Development Corporation (TEDCO) was the first economic development organization in the state to have its business park certified shovel ready through ICAD Group's Shovel Ready Iowa program. The Stuefens had been leasing property in rural Tipton until completion this month of their new facility on the east end of the park.
