Two children and an 18-year-old woman were injured this morning when a car hit the back of a school bus in North English.
According to police reports, a 2000 Blue Bird school bus driven by Jan Renee Frederick, 43, of Webster, carrying about 40 children, was stopped at a normal route stop near the intersection of Highway 149 and Clark Street at around 8 a.m. today when it was hit from behind by a car driven by Michelle O'Conner, 18, of Williamsburg.
Both the bus and the car were in the northbound lane of Highway 149. O'Conner, who was alone in her car, and two children from the bus were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries.
Another English Valley bus was used to transport the uninjured children to the school, where they were all examined for possible possible injuries. No additional injuries were found, officials said.
O'Conner was charged with failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Office, Iowa County Ambulance Service, North English Fire and Rescue and North English First Responders responded to the scene.
