Two Linn County crashes send three to the hospital

Linn County deputies were busy last night responding to a couple traffic crashes in the area.

The first of two occurred around 6:30 p.m. along Highway 151 just north of Alderman Road. Deputies say Terrie McDougal, 41, of Anamosa lost control of her vehicle and slid into the ditch.

Deputies say McDougal swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle that was making a lane change. McDougal and a passenger Alisa Wiyrick, 38, of Cedar Rapids were taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The second crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 7100 block Mount Vernon Road.

Deputies say Andrea McEldoon, 19, of Cedar Rapids lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole. McEldoon was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
