Drahos, Aldrich 'Ozzie' A.
Aldrich “Ozzie” A. Drahos, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Hiawatha Care Center following a short illness. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home. Private family burial: Czech National Cemetery.
Ozzie is survived by his sister, Susan (Robert) Drahos Garner of Coggon; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam; brothers, Leo and Stanley Drahos; and sister, Adeliene “Connie” Knake.
Aldrich Adolf was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Czechoslovakia, the son of Joseph and Mary (Kubalek) Drahos. He married Miriam Esther Stehlik on Nov. 1, 1943, in Altus, Okla. Ozzie served in the Air Force during World War II. He received a master's degree in education and was a superintendent for the Cedar Rapids Public School System for most of his life.
