Dwaine L. Tague, 79, of North Liberty, passed away peacefully surrounded by family following a long battle with cancer on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Dwaine was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Anthony, Kan., the son of Ralph and Maude (Flinn) Tague. He graduated from Anthony High School and Friends University. Dwaine served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On Oct. 18, 1969, in Lincoln, Neb., he was united in marriage to Esther Krause. Dwaine and his wife owned and operated several motels over the years and, in retirement, was employed at Midwest Janitorial. He enjoyed working and never missed a day. Dwaine also loved spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; daughter, Krista (Rob) Wiley; granddaughters, Elysia and Alexis Wiley; and many other extended family and friends.
Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Glenn Tague.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dwaine's memory may be directed to Hospice of Iowa City.
