Stransky, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Stransky, 85, a resident of Living Center West, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: Private. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Inurnment: Oakhill Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Gregory) Palmer of Topeka, Kan., and a sister, Daisy L. Wiseman of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan L. Stransky; parents; son, Steven Stransky; sister, Frances Kirchoff; and a brother, Joseph Patrick Burt.
Dorothy was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Clemens Burt. She married Ivan Lloyd Stransky on May 24, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. She was office manager at Linn County Probation Office and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
