Letter: Do our representatives accept reality?

In today's political arena, there seem to be two perspectives on reality emerging. Some politicians seem to believe in facts, while others seem to believe in alternative facts. I have tried to get Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst to answer some simple yes or no questions, to no avail. I would like the free press, such as The Gazette, to ask our representatives at every level of government the following questions and report their answers back to readers. Their answers should be 'yes” or 'no.” They should not be allowed to prevaricate.

1. Do you believe U.S. intelligence reports that Russians interfered with the presidential election to hurt Hillary Clinton's chances of winning? 2. Do you believe that millions of people voted illegally in that same election and that all or most of those votes were for Clinton?

3. Do you believe that Clinton won the popular vote by millions of votes?

While the answers to these questions may have some import for whether there is a 'mandate” or if 'the people have spoken,” I think it is most important for constituents, regardless of their political leanings, to know with certainty where their representatives stand on reality.
