Iowa's second-largest credit union by assets plans to open a branch just off Interstate 380 in downtown Cedar Rapids.
University of Iowa Community Credit Union on Thursday said its board of directors on Wednesday approved development of land formerly owned by the Knights of Columbus at 716 A Ave. NE, near the I-380 exit 20B at Seventh Street NE.
"We are excited to build a new branch in downtown Cedar Rapids at this high traffic and convenient location," said Jeff Disterhoft, UICCU chief executive officer.
The new office will be UICCU's fourth location in Linn County. It previously opened branches in southwest Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Marion.
UICCU, established in 1938, has more than $2 billion in assets and serves over 110,000 members with 10 office locations.
