No hefty fine if you obey the signs

To the editor:
I'm sure there are thousands of readers like me who have grown weary of all the whining by motorists caught speeding by the cameras on Interstate 380. They could have saved themselves a hefty fine by obeying the speed limits.
The ongoing debate about the location of the cameras, the lack of advance warning, etc., is getting old. Bottom line, the cameras have forced drivers to slow down and have reduced accidents. There are signs on I-380 that forewarn motorists of the cameras, but many drivers must not be paying attention. In fact, signs reading 'photo enforced” are posted below the 55 mph speed limit signs on both sides of the freeway where the limit drops from 60 mph.
Perhaps the Iowa Department of Transportation could display warnings on the big digital signs that span I-380 near Diagonal Drive SW and 29th Street NE.
