Warm weather fills beaches and boats

Temperatures today could hit the 90-degree mark in parts of Eastern Iowa, and after last years cool temps, Iowans aren't letting the warm weather get away.
“Yeah it was pretty bad last year, didn't get to enjoy much of the outside,” Charlina Reed of Coralville.
We're just about a month from the true start of summer, but you wouldn't know by looking at the beaches or the lakes. Maybe folks just aren't taking the sun for granted since last summer was among the coolest on record.
“This is the first busy weekend,” said Laurie Montgomery of Cedar Rapids.
Montgomery had her boat tied up to several others at party cove on the Coralville Reservoir. As nice as it felt through, this isn't the first time some of the die-hards have hit the water.
“Oh no, we've had a few of them actually, earlier this year. This is our third time out,” said Montgomery.
Elwyn Pearson took this weekend to try out his new boat in his first time on the water this year.
“I've been looking for warm weather since October,” said Pearson from Lone Tree.
Since its so warm, boating seems natural. However, since its so early in the year there is a drawback.
“How's the water? It's cold,” said one of the people tubing on the lake.
The water has yet to catch up with the air. But that will soon change if the forecast holds.
“Hopefully we'll have a nice warm summer, dry summer, no flooding,” said Pearson.
