Letter: Disillusioned voter poses alternative

As an independent voter I am always amazed after every presidential election how the losing political party is totally devastated. Many of them think the country will collapse without their party in power.
I've never been able to distinguish between the parties. They both have their share of deceivers, misrepresenters, sex offenders and liars. It's usually the party that does the best job of pulling the wool over the eyes of the (sheep) voters that wins. And I always chuckle how after running each other in the ground they kiss each other's political seats.
I think a complete change should be made in our political elections. Each political party should alternate with eight year terms in power. The opposing party would choose the president from their nominees. Each party would be allowed equal numbers of representatives and senators with eight year term limits. This system would put the focus on the issues totally.
And if the country does collapse it would be because voters have no more to say about government than the choice of the two best liars left standing.
