Shedenhelm, Marjorie Belle
Marjorie Belle Shedenhelm, 71, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Hospice of the Southwest, Mesa, Ariz.
Born April 24, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Mervin L. and R. Pauline Myers, she married Wayne Shedenhelm there on Aug, 6, 1966. Margie had lived in Cedar Rapids, Villa Park, Ill., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mesa, Ariz. Margie graduated from Jefferson High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1959, then in 1964, graduated from Northwestern College in Minneapolis, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1995, she received a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of Phoenix. She taught in elementary education most of her 42 career years, loving third-graders.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Tempe, serving in AWANA, teaching and training young children in the things of God and singing praises in the choir to the Lord she loved much and now sees face to face.
She was preceded by her parents, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by daughters, Marjorie Suzanne Finical of Traer, Iowa and Kay Marie Shedenhelm of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sisters, Janet Wheeland of Cedar Rapids and Mary Miller of York, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Tempe.
