Joslin, Leonard Douglas Jr.
Leonard Douglas Joslin Jr. 64, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Spirit of Faith Family Church in Cedar Rapids by Pastor Jay Eberly. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, with military honors.
Leonard was born July 9, 1946, in Anamosa, the son of Leonard and Dorothy (Nowachek) Joslin Sr. He served in the United States Army. On Jan. 9, 1982, Leonard was united in marriage to Janice Fay Goertel in Cedar Rapids. He was a line worker at Quaker Oats for 35 years. Leonard enjoyed fishing and movies, especially mystery movies and old westerns. He is now with the Lord feasting at his banqueting table. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a child of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Douglas Joslin Sr.; and a sister, Barbara Joslin.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; three sons, Lonnie Goertel of Eugene, Ore., Troy (Tami) Goertel of Coos Bay, Ore., and Daniel (Carmen) Joslin of Marion; grandchildren, Jesse and Alyshia Fox, Damian, Sierra and Madison Goertel, Scott and Ashley Fields and Brittany Williams; his mother, Dorothy Joslin of North Liberty; a brother, Donald Joslin of North Liberty; and a sister, Sharyn Jensen of Oxford Junction.
