Local companies show poor service

I recently purchased a bed and mattress set at a local furniture business. The delivery was done by a delivery company that damaged my new hardwood floors by dropping my delivery.
After the truck left, I noticed one of the boards was cracked and broken.
I called the furniture store and they passed the buck to the delivery people, who carry the insurance.
I called the delivery people and they waited two weeks to return and inspect it.
Three weeks later they called and said they would have a handyman from their apartment management come out to repair it. I thought it only fair to get the professional floor installer to repair it, as it was in the middle of my living room. I got a bid. It was for $200.
When letting the delivery people know, they finally called to decline. Then I called the furniture store and they also declined. Where has the client service gone?
I will gladly pay more at a downtown store next time, as I know they will watch out for my best interest.
