Letter: Forge ahead and find common ground
Sandra Eccles

Although a new administration will be taking the helm, I put my trust in the checks and balances of a democracy designed to keep our country on a path that is reasonable, sensible and true. America has weathered many a storm and yet stayed on course in the larger picture.
We are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Let us not forget these truths and keep them close to heart in the many months ahead.
Our biggest enemy is the infighting among ourselves. We must forge ahead and find common ground to secure a sound future for America and the world.
America has answered the call throughout our history to aide our fellow man oceans away. Let them not forget the sacrifices made to keep them from falling. Our allies remain an important force.
