If Startup Weekend taught us anything, it may be that many minds are better than one.

And that's the approach we're taking with our community guide of the startup and innovation ecosystem. To make this an awesome resource, we need everyone in the community to share their knowledge.

Since the "map" is already quite large (around 300 entries), let's take it bit by bit. This week, I could use your help adding startups.

These are the hardest to find and track, since startups launch, change names, change hands or quietly disappear so rapidly (we've gotten eight new ones over the weekend, after all). But I know the knowledge exists in the community.

Note that there are separate tabs for established companies, service providers and inactive companies - if a startup has grown past that stage or no longer exists, please move it instead of deleting.

There's also a survey you can fill out if that very messy spreadsheet isn't doing it for you (I don't blame you).

Background: Over the last few months, I've written and spoken a lot about my desire to create a map of our innovation ecosystem, a living document that could show where the resources are, what amazing companies are here and how everything in our little corner of the world is connected.

Note that "map" may not be the right word. While there are some excellent mapping platforms out there, in the spirit of making this working document open to everyone and gathering information as quickly as possible, the information is currently housed in a Google spreadsheet. Don't be shy, edit away.
