Governor should pay his fine

I recently watched a rerun of “The Andy Griffith Show.” The character Barney Fife inadvertently issued a parking ticket to the governor of North Carolina. Fearing the loss of his job, Barney instead receives a personal commendation from the governor for performing his job without favoritism. At the end of the episode the governor paid his fine.
This originally aired in 1963. My, how things have changed. Perhaps Barney's advice to the governor of Iowa would be “Nip it in the bud!”
Special Agent Larry Hedlund should be receiving a personal commendation and the governor of Iowa should be paying his fine (for a speeding incident).
