Carberry understands value of family farmers

I am voting for Mike Carberry for Johnson County supervisor because he is the only candidate who will protect farmland in the north corridor.
When the Dooley Farm on Newport Road was rezoned to residential by the current supervisors, I lost a farm to work and the income it brings me.
My family has farmed in the Newport area for more than 100 years, but never before had my family and neighbors been called names or been treated with such disrespect; never did I have my income threatened by the county supervisors who called me a 'sacrificial” farmer.
I want to continue farming in the north corridor for many more years, but my family and neighbors cannot farm if the supervisors insist on planting houses on good farmland instead of corn, oats and hay.
Carberry respects family farmers and understands their value in the north corridor. He knows that a sustainable future includes encouraging farming and preventing sprawl into rural areas. Join me and everyone who respects family farmers in voting for Carberry.
