Iowa City school board candidates to meet with public

Two Iowa City school board candidates will hold public events next week.
Karla Cook, who is a current board member, will be at the Coralville Public Library from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and the Iowa City Public Library 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 22 to listen to comments and answer questions.
Challenger Jim Tate will be at the Friday Night Concert Series in downtown Iowa City from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 23 and the Iowa City Farmers Market from 8-10 a.m. Aug. 24.
The school board election is Sept. 10. Nine candidates are running for three seats.
