Podcast: 'On the Record' talks Linn, Johnson County drug courts

On the Record this week focuses on Linn and Johnson county drug courts. Drug court is a prison diversion program for offenders who have committed non-violent crimes and crimes that stem from their substance abuse and are sentenced to at least two years of probation. The program takes 18 months to three years to complete, depending on the individualized treatment program.

Judicial District Judge Fae Hoover-Grinde and Assistant Linn County Attorney Matt Kishinami, both are part of the team that lead and coordinate the program. The judge has presided over both drug courts since they started in 2007 and 2008.
