Pugh, Leonard Robert
Leonard Robert Pugh, 71, of Toledo, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the VA Health Care System in Iowa City, with his wife and daughter at his side. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at First Presbyterian Church, Toledo, with Pastor Dale Bucich officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdayat Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Leonard was born on April 28, 1940, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Hazel (Gray) Pugh. Leonard served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. On Feb. 14, 1976, he was united in marriage to Connie Miller Cronbaugh in Toledo. He worked for George Stein's Dodge Garage from 1968 to 1977 and 1984 to 1986, and from 1977 to 1984 at Twin City Ford. He also had his own business, Pugh Repair from 1986 to 1990. Leonard was a member of the Marshalltown Street Rodders, the Marshalltown Area Restorer's Club and the Cedar Rapids Regional Restorer's Club. He enjoyed restoring cars and loved the time he spent with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Toledo; his daughter, Kelly Hoerner of Toledo; three stepsons, Michael (Michelle) Cronbaugh of Coralville, Scott (Cindy Thomas) Cronbaugh of Newton, and Vincent Cronbaugh of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren, Ross Pugh, Felicia Hoerner, Karley Cronbaugh, Zachary, Dane, McKennan, Noah Cronbaugh and Chance Cronbaugh; two great-grandchildren, Ariana Clinton and Aiden Pugh; two sisters, Marilyn (Ernie) Bain of Peoria, Ill., and Marjorie Wilson of Salem; one brother, Richard (Beverly) Pugh of Alden; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
